My haircare routine

I love my hair.

There I said it! I love my hair, I think your hair really helps to define who you are as a person. It's a great way to express yourself each and everyday. If I'm feeling good and having a fun day out, you can bet my hair will look all fancy. Where as if I'm having a day at home doing uni work, my hair is probably tied up in a messy bun on the top of my head. I just love how your hair can represent what you are feeling and doing on that day.

Because I love my hair so much, I make sure it get's well looked after. I wash my hair once or twice a week (depending on what I have planned) with the Tresemmé Keratin Smooth Control range. I've had lots of similar products to this over the years but they have always felt heavy and weighed my hair down, but these ones do not!! They give my hair the perfect amount of shine without it looking greasy, gives it a lovely fresh smell and adds a bit of volume. If I have time before washing my hair, I will put a treatment on of either some coconut oil; I have recently discovered the Body Shop coconut hair oil, or I will use the treatment mask from the same range as the shampoo and conditioner. This helps to keep my hair in good condition and protects if from any heat damage. I also think it has helped a lot with my hair growth.

When it comes to drying my hair, I always use a root volumising spray, my current favourite is the John Freda luxurious volume root booster spray. I will also always use a heat protectant spray, I am currently using the Toni & Guy heat protection mist. I then dry my hair using my Mark Hill hairdryer and the Studio round blow drying brush to help add volume. I'll then go on to style it however I want and set it in place with VO5 ultimate hold hairspray.

After a few days my hair starts to become a little greasy, this is when I whack out my best beauty secret... DRY SHAMPOO!!!! I love dry shampoo, in particular the Batiste range, with just a few sprays, your hair looks fresh again and smells lovely! I will always have multiple bottles of dry shampoo hidden around the house because I have a huge fear of running out!

To help keep my hair in good condition I avoid putting any heat on it except for when it gets washed. On a night, I loosely plait my hair, this prevents your ends from splitting and snapping off whilst you sleep and also means you wake up with lovely wavy hair.

The final thing to mention about my hair care routine is the Tangle Teezer. These brushed are great for my hair, I never feel like they tug or pull at your hair and they come in some funky which just look cool (i'm easily pleased!).

Thanks a bunch for reading this post, I hope you have enjoyed it.

Feel free to leave any comments and recommend other products that I should try!
